Illuminate/Ruminate: The 2025 Energy You Need to Release

As the New Year near-coincides with the Full Moon in Cancer, we’re reminded of what we need to emotionally release. For this activity, choose the Rebel Deck one-liner (not card color) which speaks to you. It will reveal the residual 2025 energies you need to unload, before you really move forward in 2026.

For this activity, I’ve used the following decks:

Rebel Deck: The Oracle with Attitude
The Steampunk Tarot by John and Caitlin Matthews
The Empathic Oracle
by Steve Wilson and Michelle Motuzas
The In2it Orcale

Note that the messages aren’t meant to be specific but, rather, intended to resonate with each of you in varying degrees. Take as general insights, not as textbook truths. Enjoy and have a great year ahead!

PILE 1 – “Get the f*ck out of your head.
PILE 2 – “Rebel.”
PILE 3 – “Winning.”

PILE 1 The Right to Aspire

You’re trapped because you think you’re trapped. This a reminder that reality is meant to ground you, not bind you completely. Your status quo shouldn’t keep you from seeking more fulfillment or visualizing a better life, more so from taking the initial steps. You’re entitled to your wishes, as well as your happiness.

Look at that torii. It’s gigantic, sure. But it’s wide open, so it’s not stopping you from heading towards those mountains. Chances are, those obstacles you’re talking about are either imagined or amplified. Explore and expand as you please. The more you know about the system that inhibits you, the more you can re-strategize. Remember, there’s always a workaround. You’re only stuck when you refuse to move.

PILE 2 – Permission to deviate

There’s a meme that goes: “Tradition is just peer pressure from dead people“. So, just because something has worked wonders before, it doesn’t mean it always will.

Recently, you might have encountered that dilemma. Something that used to achieve great results suddenly fell short, or something that used to provide thrill fell flat. There’s a reason how-to guides are updated or shows are now, all of a sudden, filmed vertically. Sentiments change and so do demands. The key to anything lasting long is to continuously adapt. It’s why celebrities are now in TikTok, movies are now streaming, and original recipes now come with spicy variants.

There’s no harm in sometimes tweaking certain formulas, diversifying, or deviating from what’s tried and tested. You’re allowed to shake things up once in a while. More importantly, you’re allowed to evolve.

PILE 3 – Greatness comes with pauses

You were on a roll. But, suddenly, you’re in a slump. Lately, you’ve been spreading yourself too thin. So, much as there’s potential in your cause, you are overstimulated by false urgency and overwhelmed by self-imposed targets.

This is a call to pause, not just to rest, but also to reassess the route you’re navigating. There’s no limit to what you can achieve, but there is in how much you can take on within one time frame. Stop trying to be everything to everyone. Setting boundaries won’t make you less of a visionary. That idea won’t prosper if you punish yourself.
