Illuminate/Ruminate: Is Your Heart Right on Target?

The Bow and Arrow Spread is a seven-card spread exclusive to Mark Ryan and John MatthewsThe Wildwood Tarot, which I acquired in 2019. True to the deck’s Tolkien-meets-Zelda leanings, the layout vaguely takes the form of the titular weapon and it’s used to gauge if one’s “right on target” with the subject of query.

Serving as significators for this activity are cards from the said authors’ Sherwood Oracle, which was inspired by Robin Hood. So, on that note: choose your Merry Man:

PILE 1 – Much, the Miller’s Son
PILE 2 – Maid Marian
PILE 3 – George-A-Green

++++++++++

PILE 1 – More qualified than you think

Breakthroughs can come when you least expect and that role, mission, or undertaking was always meant for you. This is a message that, no matter how small or inexperienced you feel you are, you’ve always been more than ready to embark on that journey. Growth isn’t the prerequisite. Often, it goes hand in hand with putting on the actual work. We all had to start somewhere.

PILE 2 – Heart of a warrior

There’s a fine line between being passionate and being emotionally attached to an anticipated outcome. What you yearn is within striking distance, but such pursuits never come without hurdles – internal and external alike. There will always be other forces shooting for the same goal. Remember that a loving heart can also be a tough heart.

PILE 3 – Process the connection

You’ve already endured so much in establishing and fostering that connection, but there are still so many things left unexpressed. Enjoy the smooth, steady flow and cherish what’s already there. The status quo’s already precious as it is. Now’s not the time to jump the gun.
