Miss Universe Philippines 2026 Candidate Round-Up, Part 5 (In the Running)

MANILA – Justine Beatrice Felizarta. Just when we thought her Miss Tourism World stint already capped off her pageant journey, here comes this esteemed veteran once again, this time representing the capital. Chances are, she’ll maintain her batting average (we’ll pretend Bb. Pilipinas 2021 didn’t happen) and advance with ease. But bluntly, she’ll need to topple a favorite for a shot at a title.

MUNTINLUPA – Adela-Mae Marshall. Winwyn Marquez may be tough act to follow, but this Fil-Brit reality show alum is a top-notch performer herself. And seeing how she consistently tops the Piña Fan Vote, she might even make a play for a podium finish – just like in Asia’s Next Top Model

NUEVA ECIJA (FIL. SOCIETY OF UNITED KINGDOM) – Michelle Tantoco Burchell. The Rice Granary of the Philippines sends its second consecutive overseas entry. And while this Dartford damsel is no Chanel Olive Thomas, she surprisingly holds her own with her sophisticated charm. Unfortunately, with 10 slots already taken by Fan Vote toppers, she stands to lose hers to more hyped contenders.

NUEVA VIZCAYA (FIL. SOCIETY OF WASHINGTON) – Jacqueline Aluning. The fact she’s still in the race means the votes keep coming. And, come to think of it, it’s how her 2022 predecessor also secured her province’s debut placement. But now that the roster is rapidly dwindling, with several favorites still waiting in the wings, her slot may be I’m danger. Though, bear in mind, she’s one of the Five Gems of Misamis Occidental, as the Ambassadress of Social Services

OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – Neil Silva. To her credit, she looks better with every appearance, so it’s hard to question why she’s still in the running. However, with ten slots now occupied and several heavy favorites still not yet called in, she stands to lose her slot to a Wild Card pick.

PAMPANGA – Allyson Hetland. The moment this towering Fil-Am was crowned, the fanfare was relentless. And there was never a shortage of comparisons to past international contenders, most notably, 2022’s Miss Universe Venezuela Amanda Dudamel. Normally, that would automatically translate to “frontrunner” and, for a brief period, she actually, probably was. But as the other favorites continue to raise their A-Game, Top Seven would be a considerable feat.

SAMAR ISLAND – Catherine Wardle. With more years and experience, she could eventually grace the global stage. But, for now, she’s the teen next-in-line, after Laguna. File her under “Promising Rookie”.

TACLOBAN – Jacqueline Gulrajani. This contract artist never ceases to make waves – and speaking of which, her Yolanda-themed National Costume was an evocative showstopper. There may be other heavy crown contenders before her, but should she manage to snag a Top Seven slot, expect a dramatic toss-up.

TAGUIG – Ysabella Roxas Ysmael. Six years after almost making history, the O.G. 1st Runner-Up finally returns, only she’s representing another city. On one hand, kudos to her for wisely, strategically, taking her sweet time to regroup and evolve. But, on the other, so has the contest. And coming close before is never a complete guarantee that one would fare better in the next outing. Still, it’s exciting to see her ballet-flavored pasarela back in action and she’s more engaging than ever. When you listen to her, it sounds like watching a talk show than a competition. Such are the telltale signs that she’ll once again fight until the end. But, frankly, that doesn’t mean the crown is hers to lose just yet.

TARLAC – Marian Arellano. This newcomer may not be as highly-touted as she was when initially announced, but she’s still a formidable contender. With more Q&A polish, she can eventually excel on the global stage. Though, nothing’s stopping her from pulling surprises now.
