Illuminate/Ruminate: Your Blue Moon Message

Last month was marked by a rare double full moon or Blue Moon, hence that idiomatic expression. The phenomenon is said to amplify habits, situations, or patterns that longer serve us and force us to evolve. For this activity, you’ll be hearing from the following decks:

Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani
Folklore Oracle by Mike Bass
Magical Unicorns by Doreen Virtue
The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein

Your pile of choice might just give a hint

PILE 1 – Boundless flow

What felt like an emotional dry spell was simply your heart taking a break. Ace of Cups in Tarot of the Divine alludes to Matsuo, the Japanese ancient god of Sake. Much like the celebrated rice wine, you flow with love and joy, inspiring everyone who experiences your energy. This is solidified by the Folklore Oracle’s “Badger”, which symbolizes friendship and gratitude.

Even when you emotionally ebb, your love never runs empty. Keep flowing. And never underestimate the blessings you bring.

PILE 2 – Your own source of excitement

Your life isn’t as boring as you think.

Divine’s Nine of Cups depicts the origin of the Arabian Nights. According to Persian lore, King Shahryar took in a new wife each night and executed her the following morning to prevent betrayal. It was Queen Scheherazade who broke that cycle by telling her murderous husband a compelling story each night, thus delaying her fate for least a thousand and one more days, and ultimately saving her life.

Much like the fabled queen, you’re a storyteller at heart, who draws thrill from seemingly ordinary scenarios and excitement from the mundane. You don’t always need to new experiences to ignite your zest for life. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of watching it from a different lens.

PILE 3 – Why be ashamed?

The Norwegian folk tale, “Tatterhood”, tells the story of twins, one more conventionally attractive than the other. When the prettier twin gets abducted, her sister charges to the rescue, riding her goat and a wooden spoon as her unlikely weapon. Double that with Folklore Oracle’s “Spider”, which speaks of talent, and you’re reminded to glorify your gifts.

In a world that constantly rewards conformity and sticking to formula, be the one who shamelessly, relentlessly marches to the beat of your own drum. What some may perceive as your flaws might just be your breakthrough.
